If you could host your own music event, what would you do? That was the challenge for our Inspire Young Producers, a group of 16- 25 year-olds who have been learning all about the music industry – from booking and branding to marketing and production – culminating in this one special night of music!
This night will build on the success of our previous cohort of young producers, Common Ground, whose Rochdale Rising event saw a line-up of up-and-coming local indie bands showcased on the Heywood Civic stage.
Expect an inspiring evening showcasing the talents of local young people.
Become a Young Producer
Ever wanted to put on your own gig? Curious about what happens behind the scenes of live music events?
Join us this autumn to gain hands-on experience in music event production at Heywood Civic, a newly refurbished venue in the heart of Rochdale. Working alongside industry professionals and other young creatives, you’ll develop new skills, build connections and gain an insight into how live music happens.
You’ll be part of Common Ground, a youth-led production group formed through our previous Inspire Young Producers programme. By booking local acts in local spaces, they’re creating new opportunities for artists and audiences across Rochdale — and you’ll help shape what comes next, including a live show at Heywood Civic in November 2026.
This opportunity is open to aspiring and early-career creatives aged 16-25 living in Rochdale (up to 30 for people who identify as d/Deaf, Disabled or Neurodivergent).
Apply by Monday 7 September, 11pm.
Sessions will take place on Tuesdays from 6-8pm on the following dates:
September: 15, 22, 29
October: 6, 13, 20, 27
November: 3, 10, 17
Sessions will mainly take place at Heywood Civic, with the potential for some online sessions throughout the programme.
The live show will take place at Heywood Civic on Friday 27 November. Please keep the whole day and evening free.
